One-Hour Game Experiment
Neon Cyber-Slime Breakout built racing against a 60-minute clock.

The Challenge & Setup
This lab was a rapid prototyping challenge: build a complete game in one hour using a randomly selected type and theme. The wheel landed on a Breakout clone with a “neon cyber-slime” aesthetic. With no prior game development experience, I jumped straight into coding screens, backgrounds, and a flawed level system while racing the timer.
The Outcome & Lessons Learned
The result was chaotic but hilarious: cursed ball physics, a bug that forced every level button to load level 1, and a 250-line main orchestrator that overwhelmed the structure. Despite the mess, the theme was followed, the game ran, and the experiment taught me a lot about rapid iteration, debugging under pressure, and the value of planning—even when the timer is ticking.
